4.5 ⭐️ Goldman uses such a unique literary device to create this iconic meta-fictional story about how stories can shape young minds and teach us important lessons; all while containing a satirical fairy tale that is just so fun and whimsical. That being said I do think his narration was used too much. What else can I say that hasn’t been said already? It’s a modern classic for a reason and I can definitely see myself coming back to this book for a fun comfort read.

Ugh why does William Goldman hate women so much? A lot of the movie's best dialogue is lifted straight from the book, and much of the plot too, but the movie's much better. Also, he should leave the internal narrator to Emily Bronte. His application was annoying and awful and made the book 1,000 times worse. I thought the movie's internal narration was bad, but it's nothing compared to the book.
