Of course I loved this book. I love the movie. My only issue was I had the audio version, read by Rob Reiner (director of the movie). He is not a good reader. It's a short book, but made even shorter by his refusal to pause. At all. Caveat emptor.

Each time I tried to read, I felt a slump coming on... it just wasn't for me or at least not for me in this particular mood of mine.

William Goldman truly is a genius storyteller. His storytelling technique of writing it in the form of an "adaptation" with interruptions by Goldman gets distracting and takes away from the story. Otherwise, it's a great study of technique and structure.

Also, it's obviously one of the best stories and the film adaptation is perfect.

Witty and ludicrous, would have been a really enjoyable read if it hadn't been for William Goldman’s irritating interruptions and frankly sexist comments about his wife?

Could be a five-star book, but I found the involvement from the author distracting. I know this story is supposed to be his experience with the story, but it really took me out of an otherwise great experience. Still love it, though.
