This gives me Black Butler vibes with a young protagonist and some suggestive dialogue/relationships that makes it feel a bit creepy. Our MC is 14, can’t sleep, and wanders around until he meets a vampire. Then he decides he wants to be a vampire. Then vampire continues to hang out and feed off of him and tells him you have to be in love with the vampire feeding off of you to become one. I’m not sure exactly where this story will go but I think I’m good with the part I read. The stylistic scenery and backdrops were cool though.
In dem Manga geht es um einen 14jährigen Jungen namens Kou Yamori. Er ist emotional und sozial eingeschränkt und zur Schule zu gehen ist ein Qual für ihn. Er merkt, dass er anders ist als seine Klassenkameraden. Hatte er als kleines Kind noch Freunde, die seine Verschrobenheit und Andersartigkeit akzeptierten, so ist er als Jugendlicher nur noch allein und einsam. Nachts schleicht er sich aus seinem Elternhaus und genießt die Stille und Andersartigkeit der Nacht. Dabei trifft er auf die Vampirin Nazuna Nanakusa. Sie ist nach dem ersten Schluck seines Blut hin und weg. Kou sieht in ihr seine Chance selbst zum Vampir zu werden und endgültig dem Leben im Licht zu entkommen. Das Problem ist, dass Nazuna behauptet, man wird nur zum Vampir, wenn man sich in den Vampir, der einen beißt, verliebt. Kou ist aber, wie schon erwähnt, emotional eingeschränkt. Gefühle wie Liebe und Freundschaft sind ihm bisher fremd. Nun versucht er diese Gefühle zu erforschen, um seinem Ziel näher zu kommen.
Ich fand die Idee des Mangas mal wirklich etwas neues und originelles. In Kou konnte ich mich gut hineinversetzten, da wohl jeder schon dieses ganz besondere Gefühl in der Nacht erlebt hat. Die Stille, die Andersartigkeit und die Schwärze, die sich wie eine schwere Decke über einen legt. Für Kou ist es allerdings mehr als das. Für ihn ist es eine Realitätsflucht.
Die Vampirin ist einfach ein sehr interessanter Charakter und ich mag ihren Humor. Sie provoziert Kou auf eine ganz eigene, witzige Art. Sie bleibt auch ein wenig mysteriös. Noch glaube ich nicht alles was sie so sagt, bzw. was der/die Mangaka uns von ihr erzählt.
Es gibt auch einige sexuelle Anspielungen, aber das ist nicht wirklich anstößig, eher witzig.
Sie versucht Kou natürlich weiter in die Nacht zu ziehen, da sie offensichtlich seine Gesellschaft mag. Relativ am Ende bekommt sie dann aber Konkurrenz von der Lichtseite und nun versuchen Licht und Schatten Kou zu beeinflussen.
Der Zeichenstil war sehr atmosphärisch und ich mochte den Comicartigen Stil der Figuren. Die Gesichter waren aussagekräftig und ich mag das niedliche.
Ich werde die Reihe auf jeden Fall weiterlesen.

LOL, who knows, I may have loved this as a teen. a) This is a Manic Vampire Dream Girl for introverts who don’t sleep. b) Nanakusa Nazuna is a great vampire name. c) The main character is simply not interesting enough to have fascinating characters orbit him. d) But I love Akira and the two walky talky watches. I am willing to give this series a chance.

honestly thought that i would like this considering my love for supernatural manga, vampires and mcs who want immortality! i picked this up at b&n randomly without really doing a thorough skim because i had been looking for new stuff to read. the first few pages in i had no issues, the art was awesome and i loved the atmosphere! but towards when the other mc got introduced i started getting more and more creeped out bc the sexual tension between the two characters the farther i got in! i think i skipped the last chapter altogether for that very reason, no thanks!

The art wasn't pretty. It was gritty like the night it's supposed to represent. We don't see much of his home life. Most of the scenes are cityscapes or the vampire's home.
As a personal preference, it wasn't my cup of tea. As a librarian, I would probably get this for my older manga readers.
