the beginning was so slow and repetitive like the first 4 chapters felt like the first recap chapter but it was the same recap, but now it's starting to expand on the relationships and introduce new characters which is introducing the emotion and conflict I'm interested in seeing how they develop. Heeeeaaaavy on the metaphors of depression throughout. We'll see which direction it takes and if I stick with the series

Ko is a high school student who suffers from insomnia. With no friends and no one he feels comfortable talking to he begins to wander the streets at night lost in thought. Then he stumbles upon a seemingly young woman who says she can help him with his insomnia. It’s almost like kismet.
Nazuna is a vampire who has lured Ko back to her place. While there are a million red flags Ko seems to be okay putting himself in an awkward situation. As Nazuna allows Ko yo fall asleep next to her, Ko isnt exactly counting sheep. While Ko pretends to fall asleep Nazuna takes a little taste of his blood, and is shocked to find out Ko was awake for the whole thing.
This awkward dynamic and unique situation-ship between Ko and Nazuna is hilariously wholesome and oddly intriguing. I’m a big fan of vampire stories and I’m liking this new twist on vampire lore.

I enjoyed this as an opening to the story immensely, however there were just a lot of things that remained unanswered or didn’t go quite as in-depth as I wanted.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still fun and the characters and everything was interesting. Some of Ko’s reflections on his life and his relationships mirrored a lot of my own in some aspects when I was younger, so I had an easier time relating to him and some of his little tidbits.
There are strong through lines/subtext of depression and insomnia for this story, so I’d be more inclined to recommend this if that’s something you’re looking for.
Art was fun too, which is always a plus for a manga 😅
