this was so good. I was obsessed with these two. like so much. that's it. read it.
slow-paced
Solid 3.5 for me. Not my favorite of Soliz’s stories. Max and Eva are so wonderful, but the story needed more time to develop. A little to rush at the end. I do love how much more Laguna island has been developed and grown in this story though!

Eva and Max have a crazy night in Vegas. Max needs to hold on to his businesses but he has to be married. Eva needs an investor. Max moves to Eva’s small town and falls in love with their life together.
Tropes: marriage of convenience. He falls first. Billionaire. Small town girl/ big city boy.

Okay, I liked this one even more!! It's a marriage of convenience between billionaire Max (one of Gabe's friends) and cafe owner Eva, who met in Vegas and got married so he could fulfill a clause in his inheritance and eventually gain control and oust his awful father, dissolve the company, and work more ethically. In turn, he invests in Eva's small town and she gets money as well. Her small town, by the way, is Laguna Island from the holiday book I read about Daniel and Ale this winter! I met Eva in that book and didn't expect to come back to town so that was an excellent surprise. Max is larger than life and Eva is hesitant to have real feelings for him since the plan is to divorce in 18 months. But feelings they have! Again, great larger body rep (the line about him wanting to kiss all her thigh dimples *SWOON*). Vi and Jake are next and I am so intrigued to learn their story based on what's been teased in the last two books!

This was a great read! It was a cozy, slow burn romance that kept you wanting more. I loved the characters and their back stories. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Thank you for the eARC!!
