This the first Dan Brown book I read, even before DaVinci Code. I actually enjoyed it more.

La prosa de Dan Brown combina los dos requisitos para un buen libro de misterio: acción constante en cada página, que le proporcionan un ritmo vertiginoso a la historia, y un plot twist tras otro, manipulaciones y traiciones sin fin que te hacen dudar de hasta el propio Dios. Es sorprendente de todo lo que se puede hacer en 24 horas.

Me encantó, fascinó, absolutamente todo. Me mantuvo completamente enganchada la historia eso que ya había visto la película aunque hace bastante tiempo atrás. Creo que Brown tiene una escritura riquísima ya que con cada mención de las obras de Bernini me hacían querer conocerlas. Como mencioné anteriormente ya sabía que ocurriría al final pero aún así el libro me mantenía intrigada, y como es obvio varía en varias cosas con respecto a la película. El libro es muy, muy bueno, cada uno de sus personajes me conectó, sentí pesar la muerte de varios, y el final, es que el final, wow, fue el final perfecto para un libro lleno de movimiento, acción pero no en el sentido de peleas si no que en el sentido mental, ya que la cabeza de Langdon no dejó de pensar desde que lo convocaron y las últimas 4 horas fueron pero pff. La relación entre Vittoria y Robert me encantó por que desde que ambos comenzaron a trabajar juntos se produjo esa conexión y química que se comprendían el uno al otro. Robert logró vencer temores y eso fue otra de las cualidades del libro ya que me encanta que exista un crecimiento en los personajes. Brown, te ganaste mi admiración.

Basically a story of what extreme lengths a man will go to to get laid by a grieving woman.
Mixed bag defines this book perfectly. Somehow all 700+ pages take place within 24 hours, which means events are bulked out on some detail.
That being said, the action is exciting and keeps you turning the pages with ease. Rome is a city I've visited in several occasions so it was fun to have some familiar place names pop up with added detail and context I didn't previously know.
My main problem with this book is the ending. The whole novel is building to discover who this huge, evil perpetrator is. There are several candidates throughout, each with potential motivations and actions riddled with holes. This means when the big reveal hits, there is an underwhelming feeling as it doesn't make great sense. As Dan Brown tries to justify this, it only stretches the reasoning thinner and thinner.
That being said, I still enjoyed this book in all it's silly action glory. Just which I hadn't expected the ending to make perfect sense.
