Basically a story of what extreme lengths a man will go to to get laid by a grieving woman.
Mixed bag defines this book perfectly. Somehow all 700+ pages take place within 24 hours, which means events are bulked out on some detail.
That being said, the action is exciting and keeps you turning the pages with ease. Rome is a city I've visited in several occasions so it was fun to have some familiar place names pop up with added detail and context I didn't previously know.
My main problem with this book is the ending. The whole novel is building to discover who this huge, evil perpetrator is. There are several candidates throughout, each with potential motivations and actions riddled with holes. This means when the big reveal hits, there is an underwhelming feeling as it doesn't make great sense. As Dan Brown tries to justify this, it only stretches the reasoning thinner and thinner.
That being said, I still enjoyed this book in all it's silly action glory. Just which I hadn't expected the ending to make perfect sense.

Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon is called to Vatican City when a murder and branding occurred at the CERN laboratory and a canister of antimatter has been stolen from there. Along with him is Vittoria Vetra, the daughter of the slain physicist to help him through his investigation. Some events occurring are tied to the Church of Illumination and a mysterious killer known as the Hassassin, and the duo discover that a more sinister plan that involve the antimatter.
“A&D” is certainly a mysterious and turn-filled story that never slows down. One thing for sure is that it has a very intellectual feel in its tone, given how it centers on science and religion. Langdon and Vetra’s teamwork and chemistry is what made it worth reading while I did get a bit lost when it dives deep into facts while the story can get a bit exhausting and predictable. It’s still a fine read that has interesting topics in its mystery that are a bit more fascinating than its story. B+ (83%/Very Good)

Just as great of a book as I remember it to be. I could do with less of the misogynistic writing about Vittoria. They certainly talked more about her looks and sultry expression than they did her intellect.

It's an easy read, so it doesn't require a lot of in depth thinking. The mystery behind the antimatter crisis is keeping me very interested. Dan Brown is a very creative author in putting science and religion in the same text.
