A thrilling adventure that is entirely too long. I was hooked by the plot in the beginning, but around about 400 pages I just wanted it to be over. The story is excellent with some exciting twists, but it just took sooooooo long for everything to be revealed. I do love lengthy books, but they have to have substance on every page or they don't work for me - in my opinion, this book had about 150-200 pages of filler that could have been easily cut. Do we really need endless detail on the main characters getting to places? Just get there already. Anyway, I think I could have rated this higher if it were shorter. It was an enjoyable read that I probably won't ever pick back up for a reread.
I also don't really understand why Kohler didn't just tell Langdon and Vittoria on the phone that the Camerlengo was involved in the illuminati plot... maybe there is something I'm missing, but that bothered me.

I love the plot and writing of the books - my only problem is the main character. It just feels like the author has written the main character as what he wants to be - he's smart, funny, athletic, professor yada yada yada boring. He doesn't have any flaws and it's not realistic. But I love the plot and the mystery so it's still 4*

Alright, this was wild. The fact that the whole book takes place in the span of a day is insane. The plot was very original though and so entertaining.
The one thing that tripped me up was the dual perspectives. It switches quite a lot and you can tell when it switches but it kinda makes it confusing at times.
The evil in the hassassin was so uncomfortable to read from his perspective. I get it’s an important part of the book and everything but just felt unnecessary most times.
Good overall though! The plot twist is brilliant in this one.

Writing this review many years later, but I think I liked it as much as the first?
