I will be forever frustrated that the “miraculous events” that inspired millions of people in this world to search out religion was in fact perpetuated by a psychotic man with daddy issues who actually cared very little for people and was then covered up and allowed to be seen as a divine miracle by the Catholic Church.
But that’s good writing for you.
Admittedly I knew most of this storyline before I started this novel because I watched the movie years ago but the plot twists and extra content that you get from the novel clearly put this storyline over the edge. I truly enjoyed the book.
I enjoyed Langdon’s character and my only complaint is that Vittoria (FMC) is a brilliant scientist who designed the capsule used to transport the antimatter is reduced down to a damsel in distress who has to be rescued multiple times.

I was so engrossed in the book that I finished in one sitting till 2 am in the morning. The writing made me so gripped into the book that I can visualise what were happening. Honestly, I love Dan Brown's writing even though some paragraph are longer, but I'm not even intimidated with it. I love it. I should have been reading this much more earlier, don't know why I even scared of this book.
"I want to believe,"
"So why don't you?"
*I'm truly sorry if i don't do justice on my review. Theres alot I want to say but when the time to type it out, blank.

There are thrillers, and then there’s Angels & Demons—a book that grabs you by the collar at 2 AM, whispers “Illuminati”, and dares you to sleep before you find out how it ends (spoiler: you won’t).
This is Robert Wesley Langdon’s first rodeo, and it begins in classic Robert Wesley Langdon fashion: woken up in the middle of the night and immediately thrown into a world-threatening crisis involving ancient cults, symbolic riddles, and Vatican drama so intense it makes the actual Church look like a book club. A physicist is murdered, branded with a mysterious Illuminati symbol, and before you can say “plot twist”, we’re hurtling off to Rome in a jet faster than you can Google “CERN”.
Now, I’ll say this upfront—I loved the concept. It’s that perfect blend of “this can’t possibly be real” and “wait, what if it is?” Ancient rivalries between science and religion, hidden codes in famous artworks, cryptic paths leading to secret lairs—it’s Da Vinci Code but with more antimatter and less Mona Lisa. Dan Brown keeps the pace relentless, and I was genuinely hooked. Forget bookmarks, you’ll be flipping pages like you’re solving the mystery yourself.
The characters? Surprisingly layered. Dan Brown slips in just enough backstory to give them depth without dragging the plot. You never quite know who to trust (a priest? a physicist? someone in robes with access to explosives?) and the twists come thick and fast. One minute you’re rooting for someone, the next minute you’re shouting “betrayed again?!” at your book.
But—and it’s a big but—the writing? A bit... erratic. Don’t get me wrong, Dan Brown can write suspense, but his tone is like a symphony that occasionally hits a kazoo solo. One minute, you’re deeply invested in a high-stakes Vatican infiltration, and the next, Robert Wesley Langdon’s visualising a priest with a bazooka. A bazooka. In a cassock. The mood whiplash is real. And don’t even get me started on some of the analogies—half the time I wasn’t sure if I should be impressed or deeply confused.
Also, this all happens in 24 hours. TWENTY-FOUR. I mean, fair play to Robert Wesley Langdon, but I can barely get through my inbox in that time. Still, for all its quirks and mildly chaotic tone shifts, Angels & Demons delivers exactly what it promises: a pulse-pounding, popcorn-munching mystery that’ll keep you guessing (and googling) until the final page. It’s flawed, yes, but gloriously fun. And honestly? We all need a little Illuminati drama in our lives now and then. Just maybe brace yourself for the odd bazooka.
