Loved the concept, decent execution, but Mary H.K. Choi always loses me with the writing style. Were thrown into situations without context and the voices of the characters fall flat for me.

I really liked parts of the story and liked it more than Emergency Contact, I just wish we would've gone a bit deeper.

I’m lucky I made it to the ending. I really liked this book - like really. I loved so much about the themes and the ending and everything, but the side plots were so meandering that I almost quit before I got 30% in.

I had so many conflicting feelings while reading this book. The characters are so nuanced, many of them extremely unlikeable, but all had interesting perspectives and insights. At the end of the day, it was a complex story about family, friendship, and mental health and I couldn’t put it down.

I loved this book but I also wanted more. To stop before we even know if June survives is frustrating. This is a book about cancer and sisterhood. And I wish they finished the story with that in mind.
“I wonder if in a few years this will have been the worst thing that's ever happened to me. Or if things get worse. If this moment defines me as an adult, I need to know right now by how much.”
This tricked me! Regardless it’s still a beautifully written construction of grief. Before the loss occurs.
I almost cried! Almost! When Umma came to the hospital!!!! But I pushed through.
Lovely book about cancer thank you.
