I loved this book but I also wanted more. To stop before we even know if June survives is frustrating. This is a book about cancer and sisterhood. And I wish they finished the story with that in mind.

“I wonder if in a few years this will have been the worst thing that's ever happened to me. Or if things get worse. If this moment defines me as an adult, I need to know right now by how much.”
This tricked me! Regardless it’s still a beautifully written construction of grief. Before the loss occurs.

I almost cried! Almost! When Umma came to the hospital!!!! But I pushed through.
