I read this book in Dutch, but will be writing my review in English. This was a cute book!

A little egg falls (or rolls) out of its nest and lands on the ground between all sorts of dinosaurs, will he or she find their parents?

I am a big dinosaur fan (of the old look, not the feathers) and so of course I couldn't resist a book like this. I was curious what the dinosaur in the egg was, would it be a t-rex? A brontosaurus? Velociraptor?

I loved that the egg, or what was inside, could speak and ask questions. I did think it was funny that it could see itself and so answer the questions send back to it from the dinosaurs. Oh well, I guess without it we wouldn't have this book.

How the dinosaurs figured out who the egg belonged to? That was such a fun twist! I am really happy with it, and also happy with what the dinosaurs did when the figured it out. Aww!

And that ending. *cries* That was just the sweetest.

The only thing I didn't like that much was the repetition. I get that it was needed, because the egg wanted to know who its parents were, but still. Oh well, at least we got to see all sorts of fun dinosaurs!

The art was really nice! I liked how the dinosaurs were drawn.

All in all, a fun, cute book about dinosaurs and finding your parents. Definitely recommended.

Children want to belong to families. It is part of knowing they are loved. The best picture book, from my childhood with that theme is Are you my mother. In that story, the child bird goes to all different animals, looking for someone that looks like her.

And like that story, in this story, there is an added layer of mystery, because the baby is still in the egg, and asks all different dinosaurs if they are its mother. Because we can't see inside the egg, each creature has to discribe what it looks like, and see if it matches what the being inside the egg looks like.

It is a cute book, with bright colors, and a nice rhyme. For kids that like dinosaurs, this might be fun. And since the baby is reunited in the end, everything works out.

Am I Yours is a cute story about a lost dinosaur egg. The little dinosaur inside is hoping to be found by his parents but since he's inside the egg no one knows what kinds of dinosaur he is. He is encountered by different dinosaurs and along the way we learn a little bit about them until he is finally returned to his own nest. Lovely colorful illustrations.

This book reminds me of the classic "Are You My Mother." A dinosaur egg rolled out of a nest and a variety of dinosaur parents check to see if the egg is theirs. This would make a great guessing game for the children to see if they can guess what dinosaur it is.

The rhymes are clunky and they don't work for me.

What is it with me reading picture books that feature missing baby dinosaurs? Why do I do this to myself?

This was absolutely precious! I loved the graphics and the rhyming scheme, which makes for a more enjoyable storytime. The story itself was like Dr. Seuss' "Are You My Mother?" So it wasn't a new concept but the dinosaur element was a nice touch (It describes a hand full of dinosaurs which would be great when learning about the different types of dinosaurs, but also when learning about descriptive words) and I think a lot of kids will enjoy this, I know I did!
