Another fantastic journey with Matt Cruse! I enjoyed the second book in his series almost as much as the first. The high flying adventures of Matt and Kate are thrilling and put the reader on the edge of their seat the entire time! Nadira was a nice addition to the series as she not only provided a second romantic interest for Matt, but she provided a lot of tension and suspense during the journey. Like Matt, I never really thought she was a betrayer, but there was always that small shadow of a doubt that was hard to shake and kept you intrigued. Hal was also a solid character as he gave Matt someone to be jealous of and he stood as the greedy only-out-for-himself example that provided the perfect counterpoint for Matt and his steadfast honor and integrity. I look forward to the third book in this excellent series!

Loved it. I like how his books don't really lead to a sequel, but there is one anyway. It makes the next book not so predictable. However, I thought the conflict and resolution of this book was the same as Book 1. Also, I hated Kate even more through this book, but she sort of redeemed herself in the end.

Standalone sequel

Skybreaker picks up characters we loved in Airborn, but could easily be read without knowing the events of the first. This was a rousing adventure and an engaging read.
