The Adam and Tork stories belongs to the lighter stories that I've tag by these authors. When I say "lighter" I do not mean light per se, because they are still filled with anxiety and hard stories, but the hard things lies mostly in the past and the present is funny, shining and loveable... most of the time.

About six month later the events of the first tale. Tork is living in a house for ex-homeless teens, gradually getting used not to live by his street rules. Trying to overcome his anxieties about people and his not so wishful thinking about staying. On the other hand, his relationship with the haughty and conceited Adam is evolving as well. Horniness and lust growing day by day.
It was nice reading about their lives after what happened, but I would have preferred The Invasion of Tork to be a stand-alone. Originality should not be drained, if the idea does not allow it.

This was the perfect sequel to [b:The Invasion of Tork|23308282|The Invasion of Tork (Tork and Adam, #1)|Claire Davis|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1428182858s/23308282.jpg|42862886] and everything I could have asked for! The hope continues and is built into something real, something tangible.

Adam is right there when Tork has some setbacks. Together they pull through breakdowns and tears and continue their path to a brighter, happier future. Not only for Tork but also for Adam, whose life has been empty and superficial until he met Tork and found what he never thought he was looking for.

I love Tork, I love Adam, and I especially love them together <3

I appreciated the chance to see Tork and Adam move forward from their tentative beginnings in the excellent first novella. In this story we learn more of who these guys are, what drives them, and how they adapt themselves to fit together. Although Tork has had the harder road, it is Adam who perhaps comes the farthest. In caring about Tork, and putting his wellbeing first, Adam finds himself - the man he is meant to be inside the empty-hearted shell of a partying young man that he was. Tork has taught Adam about surface appearances and depths, and by the end of the book Adam seems worthy of Tork.

And we also get to see Tork, able to accept help, moving forward, facing the things that drove him onto the streets. It's a difficult but warm, emotional, and satisfying journey.
