I appreciated the chance to see Tork and Adam move forward from their tentative beginnings in the excellent first novella. In this story we learn more of who these guys are, what drives them, and how they adapt themselves to fit together. Although Tork has had the harder road, it is Adam who perhaps comes the farthest. In caring about Tork, and putting his wellbeing first, Adam finds himself - the man he is meant to be inside the empty-hearted shell of a partying young man that he was. Tork has taught Adam about surface appearances and depths, and by the end of the book Adam seems worthy of Tork.

And we also get to see Tork, able to accept help, moving forward, facing the things that drove him onto the streets. It's a difficult but warm, emotional, and satisfying journey.

This book is champagne, chocolate cake and a cuddly teddy bear hug.
