One of the best series endings I have read in pretty much ever, in what has become one of my favorite YA fantasy series.

Solid End

Lots of travel and adventure. Got to truly understand a different culture and better understand the history of this world.

Elisa continues to grow and be more confident in her power and herself.

Storm is just one of the most interesting characters and has a great journey.

The end was very clean and buttoned up ver quickly. Would have like to have experienced what the empire is like with a ruler. See the annual queen meeting in a prologue.

I love how the love in this series is a cute one and it focuses more on the relationship rather than the other stuff. It was cute and the war theme really caught my interest. I love this trilogy a lot. It also doesn't help that you get to read all three of them in a week. READ THIS!!

Third (documented) reread:
Perhaps the most amazing thing about my love of this series is that, despite giving it a four star rating, I actually had a hard time getting into book one. I think this may be the only time where I've been this happy I continued on with a series after not being thrilled with the first book.

That said, Storm and Alodia still totally deserve a novella devoted to their relationship ;)

Second (documented) reread:
So the last two books in this series were some of my favorite books as a teen (hence this book's inclusion on my "favorites" shelf and the five-star rating). Rereading it now, I'm not sure it would be if I read it for the first time today. There are some elements that make me wonder at the criticism it would receive if published in today's climate.

That said, the nostalgia is real.
Spoiler Also, Storm and the main character's sister are one of the few couples I actually ship. And I don't know why because they hardly get any page time together . . .

[4.5 stars] Wow, just wow. There are honestly no words to explain how much I loved this trilogy. The world building, the prose, the character development... Everything was just so well-executed! It'll easily go down as one of my top 5 favorite series of all time. Now, for a bit of incomprehensible caps lock fangirling: ASDFGHECTORPHSKSBM;,@/

I'm very pleased with the way the trilogy has ended. So many unexpected turns and a brilliant outcome. I'm a little sad there isn't a whole other book.

Good finish to the trilogy, although I think I liked the previous books a little better.

I am only giving this book 3 stars because it seemed riddled with typos and grammatical errors. The story, and the whole trilogy, in fact, was gripping, and I could not put it down. I'm just a stickler for correct grammar and typos. It just seems sloppy when those errors are not corrected, although that may be more the fault of the editor/publisher.
