I just simply adore Miss Marple. And I lovingly hate how Dame Christie always has me second guessing myself!!!!! I may think I'm improving my observation skills in these mysteries, but then I fall yet again for another red herring. But I will say that I am getting better!

Also, gotta note that I love Lucy Eyelesbarrow as a main character, and I wish I could see more of her! She (and Craddock, but Lucy's the star!) was kind of like Marple's sleuthing protégé. She's very skilled, clever, and independent. There's hints of a loveline here, but she's such a girl boss that she'd totally be fine without any of the men she comes across in this book. They're messy for sure 😵‍💫

read in german translation.

I reread this bc i could not remember a single thing from it and it was fun. As agatha christie tends to do there were  way to many red herrings for me and the solution seemed pretty constructed but miss marple was delightful and i really liked lucy as well.

This is the first Agatha Christie novel I've ever read, and clearly I'm going to have to read more. The characters were entertaining, the murder mysterious and the conclusion pretty satisfying.

I have become a great Agatha Christie fan in the past couple of months. I really love the 1960s Miss Marple movies and thus wanted to read the original plot of 4.50 from Paddington. As the film is only loosely based on the book, I found it interesting and thrilling to read, even though I knew, who the murderer was. It had quite some turns here and there and was truly a page turner. A lovely, classical murder mystery, I can highly recommend!
