If I’m gonna read a bully story I want the bullying to last longer than 3 days. I know homegirl has already been through trauma but what’s a bit more bullying, ya know. The bullying wasn’t even THAT bad, they only did 2 things to her, like take it up a notch, please.

Don’t even mention the insta love to me. How are we gonna go from bullying to love within a 3 day period?? If it’s gonna have the love in there I need the bullying to last longer.

I kinda feel like this was rushed, as if it just needed a bit more added into it. Like where was the build-up??

Now Briar has a bit of trauma which gave the story a twist, but the way that it’s going is a bit idiotic to me. If you’ve read it you’ll know but like… their choice at the end does not make sense to me.

ALSO there is one line in this book where I LOST it. Let me read this line to you: “I feel like an animal around you. I am a feminist, I believe in women’s rights, and consent, and all of that…” I’m sorry what??? I literally laughed out loud. How very noble of you Samson for believing that women should have rights and be able to consent. Ya know basic rights and all.

Did I read this in 3 hours though…? Yes.

Am I going to read the second book…? Yes, I haven’t gotten a big ole group scene yet.

I’m gonna be honest, I’m not reading for the “plot.”

There was a bit of M/M in this book which I’m assuming will pick up a bit more in the second

I feel my chest constrict at the thought—at how they started as my worst nightmare but will ultimately be my saving grace. My worst enemies will become my biggest support system.

I honestly don't even know how to react to this book. It's the first in a reverse harem bully romance duology following 18-year-old Briar as she moves from California to the East Coast to live with her new step-father. She is still dealing with the aftermath of a sexual assault that has her traumatized, so when her new step-brother and his three best friends turn out to be the biggest bullies in school, she decides she has no choice but to stand up to them and fight back. But there's something about the darkness in their hearts that calls out to the darkness in hers and she soon wonders if what she feels for them is hate or lust.

This novel was kind of a mess, but the kind you can't seem to look away from. We have cringey dialogue, inner monologues that make no sense, and realizations that forget to fact check themselves. Briar realizes, at one point, that the boys are not bullies and she has never seen them mistreat anyone ... except they did bully her ... and something happened between them and a student named Micah that resulted in his suicide ... and Jack had his own story he didn't feel comfortable sharing the details of ... and Scarlett had reason to fear that Ash would get her parents' cafe shut down if she crossed him.

Ultimately, I found the relationships underdeveloped, the steamy scenes rather anticlimactic, and the whole situation more strange than sexy. (And I really enjoyed Credence by Penelope Douglas, so that's saying something.) With the abrupt ending and the total lack of understandable motivations for any of the characters - especially the big bad introduced at the end of the story - I do not plan to continue on with the sequel.

There is better smut out there and I would rather read that.

The Kings of Ravenwood have met their match!

Briar Monroe is the Queen they didn’t know they needed. Briar is the new girl and fearless of the Ravenwood bullies! She’s the only one who seems to stand up to them. Upon her taking a stand, the Kings see that maybe she is better as their ally and not their enemy. As they get to know each other Briar sees there’s more to them then the persona they show the rest of the world.

Each character has a voice and we get to see things from their point of view, which is great. I can’t wait to see what happens with the characters in book 2!

i really liked this book it was amazing. the way they all formed their own relation ship with briar was excellent. i didn’t really like the last few chapters although it said that there was going to be a little cliffhanger but i didn’t expect it to a big one that was going to change the whole plot of the story. i got recommended this as a bully romance. the bully aspect wasn’t as intense as i thought it would be. they only bullied her for like 10 chapters max. but overall the book was pretty good and i look forward to reading the next book.

This book was okay, and I may have liked it enough to consider reading the next one, but overall the book went too fast for me. It felt like the main character gave in too easily to the boys and they just jumped right into bed with each other. Other than that, I wouldn’t consider this a “bully” romance considering the lack of bullying scenes.

Don’t get me wrong, the writing was fantastic, and I’m sure with more details and a slower burn this book could’ve gotten a 5 star rating from me.
