Great read! A nice story to get lost in and have a laugh. Somehow I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I usually do though. Probably my least favourite book of hers, still had a fun time reading and would defined recommend.

I’m not really sure what I didn’t love about this book. It was kind of a handful of little things that ended up making the whole novel mediocre for me. I didn’t feel the connection between Sophie and Max for the first half of the book, and then it seemed more about their physical attraction for each other rather than growing feelings. They did develop a strong friendship but o didn’t really feel the turning point where a deep love was forming. Sophie also became repetitive regarding her disdain towards love, despite the obviousness of her growing affection. The humour was also lacking in this book for me; where often times I was told the characters were being funny but their dialogue really didn’t provide me with laughter or even little giggles. I also felt like the conflict near the end was a little too cringey and many of the circumstances seemed unbelievable or too cliche.

I did enjoy that the majority of the book, Sophie and Max did communicate well and their third act conflict wasn’t incredibly prolonged or over the top. It was refreshing to read a story without miscommunication. I just felt like in the end, I was left with wanting more from their story and what it was ending up not being very memorable.
