As a Neil Gaiman fan, this was a delightful view into his journey s a writer with the added bonus of experiencing the pieces that have most impacted his followers over the years -- and what a variety of types of tales that is. This is also a great book to share with people who have never read him, as there is something here for everyone, nonfiction purists excepted. I loved this read, and will definitely keep it on my shelf to revisit many times in the future.

I had to pause after The Wedding Present, because that completely broke my heart. Carried on 3 years later.. Neil Gaiman does that to you, there is no one like him! ❤️

As with most books that stay on my currently reading shelf for a long time, it's not that the book actually took me awhile to read it's that I got to the last 20ish pages and didn't want it to end.
This is a great book to completely read through once then use for reference. I have a lot of the short stories in other forms that I don't want to annotate so I used this as a way to write notes and mark my favorite stores so I can go back to them easily.
I think this book is a great investment for anyone that is a fan of Neil Gaiman, it's a great way to read a bunch of short stories that may not have gone into Trigger Warning or Smoke and Mirrors, and it has some experts from his books that are a fun little reminder of how amazing those books are.

A great book especially if you are a Neil Gaiman fan. It is like a best-of album but, clearly, the stories were picked with great care and placed in a thoughtful order. I highly recommend it.
