Well, how to describe this amazingly awesome book? Better than the first one! The adventure was nonstop, I almost forget how to breathe! I loved the relationships, loved the psychology of characters, understand their feelings and fears... Who said males are not good with describing of feelings? Rick Riordan does that amazingly! And plus, keeps the plot flowing! And both the hilarious and sincere writing style keep the plot strong and true to its purpose. The only cone is the same pattern- evil happens, awesome kick-ass characters try to stop it, with dangerous quests, and the somehow cliffhanger type ending with promising more evil and dangerous things ahead. Thank God, there are not awful cliffhangers in this series as in HoO series... And the last thing: I absolutely adore Rick's characters! They are young but while reading I never feel them as kids..they are so mature and clever)) I have already loved Jaz and Walt here-) Okay, excited for the last book:)

I am really enjoying this series, but my love of Egyptian mythology is nowhere near as great as my love for Greek mythology, so I enjoy the "Lost Hero" and "Percy Jackson" series more. Carter and Sadie, siblings descended from Egyptian gods and goddesses, continue their journey toward saving the world from Apophis, the very incarnation of Egyptian evil. They meet some good characters along the way, and we see some existing characters developed further. I struggled throughout the novel because I couldn't remember many of the events of the first book in the series, so I am sure that once I reread both, I will thoroughly enjoy them!

I stopped reading this book as I lost interest in ready it, however, I love the story and will pick it back up again.

good

Bit of a slow start, but once things got going, I couldn't put it down. It had been a few weeks since I'd read the first one, and upon starting this book, I was actually worried I'd accidentally skipped a book, because it sort of drops you right in the middle of the action, and there are brand new characters that you don't get the background on right away, which was confusing.

But once I caught my bearings it was all smooth sailing, so to speak. Fun, quick read with an interesting plot and intriguing characters. I love that Sadie is such a badass, but it kind of feels like she is way better at basically everything than Carter, which I don't mind because Yay women! but it just seems a bit strange, because it sort of feels like the story is pushing for Carter to be some kind of great leader person, so one would think every once in awhile he wouldn't need to be saved by his sister...

Def planning on reading the third book soon!

This one was so much better then the first. It's still not on the same level as his Greek Myths series, Percy Jackson and the Half-Blood crowd but it's still pretty good. Carter and Sadie are more well rounded characters and are a whole lot funnier. I think Roirdan was able to spend more time with them and the story since he didn't have to spend so much time explaining how Egyptian Mythology works. This series has the disadvantage that his others don't is that most people are not familiar with Egyptian Gods and Myths like they are with Greek. You may not know the names of the Greek gods or the stories behind them but chances are you have read or seen them reference in a movie or book somewhere. Not so much with Egyptian. But with most of the explaning out of the way in the book Roirdan spent more time with our characters and let them be themselves and it made for a better book.
