Throne of Fire
I aways have been intrigued and entertained by Rick Riordan books not truly appalled, but for me there was something about this book that really made it shine. I'll admit I wasn't even totally amazed by the first book in the series but this one dived in hard.
Maybe that something was the that we weren't being introduced to kids who find a mystical world AGAIN. Maybe that something was the depth personalities on some of these new characters. Maybe that something was the intense magic fights. Maybe it was the strong ending we are left with, but whatever that something was it really-in my opinion-made this stand out from your average Rick Riordan books.
Great book. Recommended.

Perfect mix of cute lines between Carter and Sadie, boy troubles, battling monsters and things that want to take over the world, and death defying stunts! Great sequel to [b:The Red Pyramid|7090447|The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1)|Rick Riordan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1366227978s/7090447.jpg|7346572].
“Words are the source of all power. And names are more than just a collection of letters.”
This story was intense and gave readers a lot of cool facts about Egyptian gods and also about fighting. I always love stories more when I feel like I've learnt something and Riordan always manages to put in some life wisdom into each of his books. “Sometimes you have to lose a piece to win a game.” He balances some tough truths about the world with a story about kids who have to save the world from ridiculous immortal beings who are power tripping, and it's a wonderfully entertaining series!

The Throne of Fire made this trilogy so worth keeping up with!! I definitely still preferred the characters and their outcome compared to the overall outcome of the conflict! My favourite part about this one was all of the characters introduced and certain characters getting more development! I loved Bes, Walt, Jaz, all the initiates at Brooklyn House and the increase in appearances from Anubis! I fell in love with so many characters in this one. Carter and Sadie, once again, did so much to save the world in this one with little thought to themselves and their well-being to save those they care about. I find this to be their most admirable quality. The development of their relationship as siblings in this book was heartwarming, and I think it was eye-opening to the reader to show even though they didn't grow up together and were thrown into this craziness, suddenly they became each other's rock and main support.

The sequel in the Kane Chronicles. This takes us further into Egyptian mythology where Carter and Sadie have to find and join the three scrolls to release Ra the god of the sun before Apophis swallows the sun. Sadie is in a love triangle between a cursed guy and a literal god, Carter’s love doesn’t remember him. It’s quite a mess
Bes :(
Segunda lectura

The villains this time around have a lot more personality. Set feels like a completely different character, but that’s not a problem because he was pretty generic in the first book. Sadie also continues to be a fun protagonist, even when her brother is kind of bland.
