For some reason this has been the hardest Rick Riordan book for me to get through. While Sadie and Carter are interesting and the Egyptian gods are fascinating I still struggled connecting with these characters as much. It might be that audio is not the best format for these for me. I appreciated again the vastness of Egyptian history and the callout of how it impacted the world- and the gods are frankly terrifying. Sadie’s boy craziness seems a little overblown for her age, but I appreciate the teen realness that is always there in these books. Still a solid read.
