Interesting concept and consistently enjoyable art. This volume doesn’t finish the story, which is kind of a bummer, but it did a good job of hooking me and pulling me quickly through all the issues contained here. I don’t see this as something that I’d probably want to read multiple volumes of, but if the story wraps up in one or two more volumes, I could see taking the time to finish it.

The artwork in this is amazing! The plot was a little off but I was definitely intrigued and I will continue this series! I need to see what is gonna happen with these characters and learn more about the world.

Really enjoyed this one and the art was absolutely beautiful! I wasn't expecting BLACKBIRD to go where it went but I loved it! Nina was a great heroine, feisty and vulnerable at the same time. She feels like she's alone in the world yet she goes out of her way to help her family. With the way things ended I'll be curious to see what comes next, especially between Nina and Clint.

Nina has always believed in magic, even when her whole family called her crazy. Even when her parents fought, even when her mother died, even when her sister left her. This world is full of magic, she just has to try hard enough, and she will find it. And find it she does, but isn't exactly all sunshine and rainbows. And everything she has known and believed has all been a lie.

"Blackbird" is a great beginning to a new urban fantasy graphic novel series. It is full of gorgeous colors and lovely illustrations. The storytelling is fantastic. The authors have built an intriguing world of magic and illusion, hiding right in plain view in Los Angeles. Every chapter just makes you want more, and I already can't wait for the next volume!
