- Very cool & mysterious magic system
- Intriguing plot hook
- Great twists!
- Incredible one-liners.
The Bad:
- During the prologue, I found myself thinking "this could have used editing" multiple times. It gets much better as the book goes on, but still.
- The middle of the story d r a g s.
Kol randomly shows up twice in the desert? I get that we have to develop him as a love interest I guess but holy shit it feels forced as hell to have him randomly show up twice.
The Mixed:
- The fight scenes could use some work. I enjoyed them, but the writing came off as clunky sometimes.
- Suri can be dense. I get that it's a flaw of hers and it's written well, but I just don't like it very much.

This book was SO good! I was hooked early on. It is well-written and the world is very unique but also easy to grasp.
I kept thinking I had it all figured out, but then something else would happen that got me guessing again. There was also a pretty good twist toward the end.

Ah, this was so good! I loved our morally grey FMC so much. It was such a nice, refreshing change from most fantasy books to have a MC like her. I loved Kol, even though we didn't get a whole lot of him. I even loved Rasel. It was such an enjoyable read.

This was an amazing read! Every chapter had me HOOKED.
I already knew this was going to be a high rating at page 16 and thats saying a lot. The writing, the world building, the character development is really well done and thought out.
I love that its a realistic depiction of how characters would actually interact with each other and not just fall head over heels at first sight.

This is a great read! It’s fun, well plotted, and gives of Witcher vibes but with a strong female main character. It’s not heavy on the romance, which I actually appreciated, though there is tons of intrigue and the book lets us travel through a super unique world. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and highly recommend to all fantasy fans!
