This book finds Jack Morgan as the #1 suspect in the murder of Colleen Molloy. This book deals with him trying to prove his innocence, make up with Justine, and have some sort of relationship with a client that his company is work a series of murders for. On top of this Morgan is yet again called on by the mob.

The storyline with with the Jinx and the hotel murders was interesting, but the mob story line and the murder of Colleen where less so. I suspected Tommy from the beginning in regards to Colleen and I'm concerned that every book is going to have an obvious Tommy is framing me storyline.

Over all this book just gave me major deja vu. I'm about to start Private LA and we'll see if that has the same issues. Side note: I feel like these books could a television show, and maybe that's what I'm getting deja vu to.

Thanks to a sick family I was able to plow through this in a day. It was ok, not Patterson's best. Too many stories, not enough of one crisis to keep me that interested in any of the people involved.

I enjoyed this book more than the first installment. What I am unable to discern is whether I care enough about the characters to continue the series. Jack is no Alex Cross or WMC member.

The audiobook started off pretty decent. However it fell apart as the main story line never advanced, then it disappeared for some other stories (which will probably be used for further books) and then reappeared for the last 45 minutes where it got wrapped up very quickly and too nice. Disappointed and I'm not sure if I want to continue this series.

3.5⭐️ Jack arrives home to his former partner dead in his bed and he is the polices No 1 suspect.

Meanwhile he has multiple cases his team are investigating and the mob hire him to recover 30 million worth of drugs.

When Jack is arrested for the murder he is in for the run of his life to solve the case.

While it was a good read I thought there was to much going on in this book which took away from the main story line of Jacks case.

This had potential with interesting crimes... but by having 3 strands, it diluted it too much. There wasn’t much of anything really on the dead ex girlfriend in Jack’s bed, the drug theft or the dead men in hotels. I feel a bit shortchanged.
