The first third of the book dragged for me, mostly because I didn't like Claire or Voller at all. I still didn't like Voller by the end, but Claire became more likeable to me as she changed throughout the story.

I think the book could've used more horror, and I felt like the lack of details of what happened to Claire's crew in the Aurora took away from the story for me. I get why so many things weren't shown, but I still don't like it. Whatever happened to the crew is what I wanted to see most when I picked up the book, and I didn't get enough.

Ultimately, it was a good read. The last half or so of the book, along with the character developmen with Claire, made up for what I didn't like in the beginning.

Dead silence is a good blend of sci-fi and thriller. I wouldn’t really call this a horror book, but It had me wanting to know what happened to the passengers aboard the luxury cruiser the Aurora that went missing. I enjoyed the mystery the salvage crew encountered on the ghost ship. I did not care for the main character, Claire, she annoyed me quite a few times. The small romance elements in the book I don’t think was needed and it was otherwise predictable. Ending was just too much of a “feel good” resolution.

Did not enjoy the audiobook narrator yelling in my ear every time things got dramatic. I thought the ending was kind of a cop out. And the romance felt weird. Idk not my favorite.
