I mean, I'll still read book 3, but this one felt a bit more disjointed than the first, even though I already knew most of the main characters.
There were parts where I thought "wait, did I miss something?" and had to reread only to find that, no it just wasn't explained.

To be honest I got more than a little confused at times. Though again the writing was superb and the beautiful use of language I expected after Rotherweird. I love all the characters but did find I had to check who was who at times. Simply have to read the third one now

There's so much going on that it gets really confusing at times, but I love the feeling of having something figured out before the book tells us. Hope the last in the series answers the remaining questions, because this was obviously the middle book in a trilogy.

Complicated, epic, clever. Did need to reread Rotherweird first though, as it was 4 years since I'd read it. Onto book 3 without a delay, I think.

I don't know if it's just me, but the main female characters seem to come across as mean, vindictive, arrogant divas with chips on their shoulders and exudea  severe for the majority of the male characters.

This book wasn't for me. I really wished I loved it, but I just didn't. I hope to give this series another shot some time.

If you haven't read Rotherweird yet, definitely go to that page first. Wyntertide makes little to no sense if you haven't read the first book in the series yet!

If you have read Rotherweird, than you will love Wyntertide as well. It's even a bit darker, and there's quite some murders sprinkled through the story, but it is just as weird, unique and special as the first was! I do so love this little fantastic town with its quirky and unusual people.

This ends on a bit off a cliffhanger, so I definitely have to get around to book 3 sooner rather than later!

Byzantine plotting, great characters, evil minds, apocalyptic tension. Fantastic.
