I know how the dialogue is stylized is supposed to be in line with the characters' personalities but this form of characterization made the dialogue difficult to read to the point 3/4ths of the way through, I just stopped reading it cause it was putting too much strain on my eyes.

Otherwise greatly enjoyed what parts of the story I was able to pick up. Liked the parts that Despair, Delirium, & Death's trio more than I did Dream's.

As someone who knows nothing about the Sandman comics, this was delightfully absurd. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Makes me want to read the Sandman comics! Especially since it's a more serious story.

like for many other readers, Death is one of my favorite characters ever, so of course i have to read this story. but, wow, what a let-down. it could have been a great story, but all this rewriting of Season of Mists from another point of view? no, thank you. all the characters looked really cute tho.

I Love Death. I don't know Neil Gaiman Sandman's Death, but Jill Thompson's gives her interpretation to such a lively character (no pun intended) that you'll fall in love within her. I always thought that if we would personalize the entities of universe and creation, they should be mostly female. The story also contain many references to pop culture, history and culture in general. Everybody should read it.

I don't know why this book exists because it's practically a retelling of events that happened during Sandman: Season Of The Mist. The only positive is there's some cute scenes with Despair and Delirium.

I never would have picked this up on my own, manga isn't my thing, but it was a gift and it stars my favorite personification of Death, so I jumped in.

Told alongside Dream's journey into the empty hell, the sisters Death, Delerium and Despair throw a party for the misplaced damned souls. A slight story, but it was a lot of fun. Death and Delerium fit the anime tone perfectly, while Despair manages quite surprisingly to assimilate to the style as well (AND have a good time? Everyone loves a good party I guess!).

My two biggest trepidations were for naught, the book was formatted for US audiences (I loathe reading the "backwards" mangas) and the art was lots better than I feared. Though it's hard to go wrong with Gaiman's bestest goth girl!

Basically just a retelling of the Sandman story where he gets the key to Hell and everyone wants it, but focusing on Death's POV during the whole kerfuffle. I honestly might keep it just for reference pics and variant costume ideas, since I cosplay Death at con. It was a cute story (and I admit a soft spot for the subplot about Edgar Allen Poe's love for Despair, his muse) and I liked the art a lot, plus I really liked getting more time with Despair and Delirium, but the plot itself was dispensable and relied a bit too much on copying the original Sandman comic. I confess also, I was disappointed not to see Death
kicking some demon ass at the end - having them all disappear so conveniently was a cop out
