I'm having mixed feelings about the book. Storyline was fabulous and original-ish. However, I got bored with it quickly.

It's a pretty good book but not anywhere near excellent. What this author has going for her: she's great at intrigue, and drawing out the mystery and moments of suspense. What needs work: the romance. It was a little too easy and not descriptive enough. I'm glad there was mystery and suspense because that's what drives the story. It's not an excellent read but it is a fun way to pass a couple evenings.

Another free one from Bookbub. Not too shabby, kind of like a grown up Princess Diaries with a cute twist at the end too.

I really enjoyed the story and reminded me a lot of a typical Mary Stewart gothic at first - set in a castle, a woman in danger, and two potential love interests. A couple of missed editing mistakes pulled me out of the story at times (these aren't spoilers don't worry: Aurora is referred to as a wife instead of a fiancee; people sitting down to dinner across the table, then sitting down to the same dinner but in different seats on the next page etc!) but overall kept me guessing and intrigued. I would definitely recommend and seek out the next books in the series.
