This book was amazing. I loved learning about Egypt. Seeing Adam and Caroline struggle with their new relationship gave me a lot of insight about 2 worlds colliding but in the best way. I also noticed the dangers of a single story. When Caroline would stereotype and have assumptions about the Egyptians and was proved wrong every time. Caroline was kind of your typical white girl, in the sense where she did make assumptions about people , and did not consider that people around the world go through struggles addressed in this book. Although,I loved learning about the egyptian language, customs, and culture that was one of my favorite parts.

I really enjoyed this book it was different but at the same time familiar. Carolina is from Ohio and I’m from western Pa and I felt like I really understood where she was from because I have been to Sandusky, Ohio several times in my life and it’s exactly like where I grew up. I only wish I had an adventure like her the summer before my senior year. I would recommend this books

(Sorry if this review makes no sense it’s 3:38 am and I stayed up to finish this book 😅)
