Great book. Wish the dialogue of the black characters weren't so blatantly stereotypical. It sounded like they wanted the black characters to sound like they were from the 70's and 80's. There was an overuse of slang language to sound "hip" and "relevant" and to make sure the readers knew the characters were black. As if all black people speak like that. It was off putting.itsjadenbaby's review against another edition

My biggest complaint from this book is that the map (B&N exclusive edition) ruined it for me. The girls could have avoided the entire ordeal by making better choices. I give them some credit, because they are teens. However, they walked waaaaayyyy further to get to their ride than they could have just walked home. I think, without the map for reference, I wouldn't have this frustration. 🤷♀️
In the end, great book for the times we are living in.
