Despite not understanding some of the imagery, the way Lorca manipulates language and revisits motifs is very clever. Even the way he constructs sounds to create a certain aural quality is magical. Sometimes his meter and rhythm became a bit repetitive yet each poem felt well-structured and the reimaginings of narratives pertaining to Catholicism and Andalusían life were brilliant.

Lorca is THE reason to learn Spanish and keep up with it. Great in translation but perfection in the original

《 Bajo el agua
siguen las palabras.
Sobre el peinado del agua
un círculo de pájaros y llamas.
Y por los cañaverales,
testigos que conocen lo que falta. 》
