I was lucky enough to get to read an advanced copy of Pinch Hit. I had already read a few of Tim Green's books so I was expecting another great sports story. This one did have that and a lot more. There was a bit of a mystery. I really liked this book a lot, but I have to say I was disappointed in the ending. I felt like it was a very abrupt ending.

Loved meeting Tim Green so much, I will now read anything he has written. Great for those boys who are into sports!

This book served as a great reminder why I occasionally continue to read books aimed at kids. As much as I enjoy a tome about long-dead historical figures, sometimes it is nice to take a break and read something that gives me the same feelings I would get when reading in my youth. Pinch Hit ended up being less of a sports story than I was expecting (one of my favorite genres as a kid, right after adventure books and spooky stories), but it still managed to deliver a compelling narrative that kept me on my toes and made me feel like a kid again.

Tim Green played football in the NFL for 8 years, has a law degree, and is a bestselling author. Well, Mr. Green, I like to do 6 impossible things before breakfast too.
As for the book, it was fairly predictable with lots of eye-rolling moments, but cute in a manly way since cute is probably not the best word for a "boy" book. Plus my eyes got a fabulous workout!

Modern day "boys" version of "The Parent Trap" that is somewhat predictable, but definitely relatable and exciting for boys ages 10-12. Fast read.
