Emma Wright is a aid worker and flying back to the American embassy when her plane goes down over the Philippine jungle and is the sole survivor. She is rescued by an ultra-elite SEAL team and instantly connects with the leader of the Alpha Crew Ryan Owen. Ryan's mission is to get Emma home safely not fall for her. But danger to Emma on and off the island doesn't allow them to go their separate ways.

Weeks later, Emma hunts down Ryan in California and the instant attraction reignites but danger is on her heels. She has been doing her own investigation into the plane crash and is getting shot down at every turn. Ryan follows her home and realizes she is being tailed by someone and goes into protector mode. He is willing to do whatever it takes to protect Emma, even take a bullet.

Ryan and Emma are interesting characters. Emma is stubborn, independent, and very resourceful. Ryan is an alpha and stays calm in every situation. But is also determined to stay away from her, because he is not looking for a relationship but can't seem to stay away from her. It was fun getting to know Ryan and Emma they're chemistry is almost instant and the book is a fun read.

The book is full of adrenaline filled action but ends on a cliff hanger and you'll be anxious to read the next book. I know I can't wait.

First off, I have to say that I LOVED this book and can't wait to read the second book! The book was so good that I was up to 3 am trying to finish it and using the "just one more page" but it was well worth it.

Emma Wright is in the Philippines, working to bring vaccines and health care to the residents of a remote islands. However, when the plane that she is on suddenly crash lands, she is the only survivor but realizes that they may have crashed because some one sabotaged the plane. When Ryan Owen's SEAL team is sent to rescue her, they are suddenly on the run from a group of natives on the island that want her and the rescuers dead. The story is non stop excitement from the beginning to the end. I wish I could have given it more than five stars.

I enjoyed this story and these characters right up until the point where the author ended it in an abrupt cliffhanger with massively unresolved storylines and relationships between the MCs.

This wasn't a short story or a novella; this was half of a full-length novel (and I'm beyond irritated that I was duped into paying for half a book).

Laura Griffin is a new author to me, although one I have seen plenty of when searching for new books to read, and even though I always love the sound of her stories. I just never seem to get around to trying them, so when i saw this book available for review on NetGalley I jumped at the chance and I'm really glad I did.

The story itself was action packed from the very beginning when lead character Emma's plane goes down in the jungle. She is then left fighting to survive in an extremely hostile and dangerous environment. This is when she first encounters elite Seal team Alpha Crew and the hotness that is Ryan Owen. Whose team has been sent into the jungle to find and rescue any and all survivors, and after encountering Emma, he forges an immediate bond, as he helps return her to safety.

However this is not the end for the pair as once stateside Emma makes it her mission to prove the crash was no accident and in doing so searches out Ryan and his team, and unwittingly finds herself in more danger than ever before. Which then leads to a cliffhanger, and me wanting more!!

Overall though an exciting story, that was quick to read, with 4 hot alpha men and a stubborn yet resourceful woman, not to mention some great chemistry and a little suspense. Which for me did actually make the cliffhanger worthwhile, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. In the meantime I would happily recommend this book to others.
