OMGoodness! Where to start?

I really enjoyed this anthology! I think out of the 16 stories I only had a couple I slogged through the rest were wonderful! I was pleasantly surprised as anthologies are often hit or miss. As it was 99¢ I figured if I only enjoyed one story that was well worth the money and time. Lucky me, I enjoyed almost all of them.

I think my favorite was "Something Weasel This Way Comes" by Cynthia Fox. I was initially turned off by the weasel shifter, but the story was great. I am definitely going to read more by Ms. Fox.

Next would be "His Secret Dragon" by Elianne Adams and "Protector Wolf" by J.K. Harper. I also enjoyed "Kissed by the Cowbear" by Liv Brywood, "The Bearfield Baby Heist" by Jacqueline Sweet, and "Baby Mine" by Ellis Leigh.

I'm definitely going to be looking into reading more by these authors.

The only negatives were some editing errors found in a few of the stories. Nothing that couldn't be overcome, but they did cause me to wince initially.

Forces of Nature by Gen Gericault

A little side step in the adventures which began with the Afters Sleuth of Bears! When Alder Thorne meets his witch mate, he gets more than he bargained for. After all, Shifters are Persons Non Grata in her neck of the country. But after fighting off a vampire attack they cave into their attraction. But when he leaves to get breakfast the next morning, he doesn't realise that he won't see her again...for 5 years!

Wren Thistle always thought that when she met her Beloved, that would be it. But believing she has been abandoned by Alder, she moves on with her life. There are more things to worry about that a flighty mate. But when the enchantment that had been placed on Alder finally breaks and his memories of her return, he races to find her.

But when he finally traces her, he realises that he has missed out on way more than just years with his mate. But with vampires on the prowl and murderous magic wielders trailing them, he has to move them to the safety of his pack. But trouble has a way of finding this Alpha wolf and he may have to fight for more than his pack and family.

Fabulous read. I loved Alder and Wren and the fact that this was a drawn out romance, through no fault of the characters. Whilst it was kinda instalove when they first met, by the time they meet again a lot has happened to both of them that makes them both wary of what may happen to them now they have been reunited. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

This review is for Baby Mine by Ellis Leigh.

So, I've been waiting to see more of Scarlett and Shadow, and this book didn't disappoint. There's baby fever in the air for the Feral Breed and their fated mates, but Shadow has been hanging back since delivering Beast and Calla's newest daughter. Scarlett is hurt because of his lack of attention, but soon, he tells her why he hasn't slept with her.

She told him she wouldn't have children with him until he stopped working for Bez.

With one last mission left, Shadow will make good on his promise because the next time they get intimate, he has every intention of trying for a baby.

This is steamy and sweet and I LOVE how Scarlett is the one to finally help Angelita turn back into a human after being in her wolf form for almost a year. And there's an epilogue that takes place nine months from the end of the story, and you'll feel it in your ovaries. Just GAH, Shadow. That man there.
