Usually when I read these kinds of books (unreliable narrators, small town, plot twist) by the end I'm skimming ahead just to cut to the chase. This book kept me interested and enthralled right to the last page. Such good character development for a fair amount of people - I learned enough about everyone's backstory to appreciate their outcomes and felt as though I knew them as a character. I was into the story enough that I cared about what I was reading, and wasn't constantly guessing about motives or what the outcome would be.

A couple times I was like really, would someone do that, but then pages later I would be convinced that yes, yes they would.

Very close to giving this four stars. I definitely recommend this as a good weekend read.

The rating got nicked one star simply because I was expecting more of a thriller like tone. Also, the ending dragged a bit once all of the cards were on the table so that took my rating down a bit. That being said, most of the character development was excellent. I would have liked to see a post climax update from Udel and Amy. Pearl and Paul were great characters, but I felt like they got too much attention in the end.

If I Die Tonight takes place in the small town of Havenkill. In a town that doesn’t have much crime, a car accident involving a form ‘80s pop music artist and a teenage boy stealing her car and running over another teenage boy, will consume many of the town’s residents.

As the young boy who was run over clings for his life, the events of the night are unfolded.

Told through multiple viewpoints as well as a few social media accounts, the lives of many of the residents are unfolded. I loved how this book made you believe you knew who ran over the young boy, but if you’ve read any of this genre, you know the author will throw you for a loop at the end.

I was not able to figure this one out until the very end. I knew it wouldn’t end up how the author wanted you to think it would, but I couldn’t develop a motive behind any of the other characters.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I read it in just a few hours. I look forward to checking out and reading other books by this author!

This came up as an "available now" book through my library so I picked it up. I enjoyed this. Following teens and their stories with all their sneaking, cruelty and drama. There are sufficient twists here that keep you reading.
This is like a lot of other books out right now, a teaser at the beginning then you flash back and lead up to it. It's hard to stand out when there are literally SO many of these books out right now, but I think this one does a good job of being sufficiently different with good characters to make it worth the read.

It was just fair. The beginning of the book had me hooked but then the last half was so slow it felt like I was reading the same chapter over and over again. The last 15 pages picked up the story and it was a whirlwind. I think this book could’ve been much shorter than it actually was. Overall solid read.

I would do 3.5, but am rounding up. Felt a little "after school special" like, but I did enjoy it and was a good lesson that all things aren't what they seem.
