A sizzling addition to Blakey's Gift series that is dirty and flirty, delicious and decadent all rolled into a hot new read.

Jake and Kate will melt your reading device while they light up Vegas with their role playing lessons. They are the last of their friends to pair up, but aside from that, they have been sending out sparks with their looks and glances at each other for months. Their foreplay has been building up, subconsciously between them, so now that they are willing to give in to their desires their passion blazes hot.

Even they both agree to a weekend of no strings, no attachments fun, when the weekend ends, it might be harder than they both thought to go back to being just friends.

The Decadent Gift
By: Lauren Blakely
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Elena Wolfe, Grace Grant, Vanessa Edwin, Jacob Morgan

The Decadent Gift is just that. It’s a gift to our ears from Lauren Blakely. She always gives us good things, but there is something about this couple that I just really enjoyed. Kate and Jake finally get their story told, a weekend together, to enjoy each other. And they do. This is racier than the Blakely’s usual writing, but it’s woven into the story of these two driven individuals. They have their own lives, their own dreams and now they share a passion that is unmistakably love. But will they realize they want more than just that one weekend? Blakley shines in this one, with wonderful characters, a view of Vegas and some visits from books past. It’s hot and steamy and their banter just is an extra added plus. Add in the strength of the women in this story and I was sold. Just keep them coming Lauren!

As always, the narrators are chosen with care and they are perfectly cast. Elena Wolfe and Teddy Hamilton complement each other in their narration, bringing the characters to life. I enjoyed their performances along with the cameos by Grace Grant, Jacob Morgan and Vanessa Edwin. A fantastic cast for this amazing story.

The Decadent Gift is the newest installment of Lauren Blakely’s After Dark Series and just keeps getting better and hotter with each new story. Kate and Jake finally accept their attraction...sorta. Kate asks Jake for his help with a work project. I have always loved Lauren’s characters because they are so very loyal with their family, friends, and new “love” interests. Jake is handsome and very sexy, loves his sister and nephew, and focused on helping his parents while in retirement. Jake and Kate both seem to be hyper focused on work. Will they ever realize their is life beyond 5 o’clock and more fun with a partner? I can definitely say that Kate and Jake heat up the sheets before they get to the bedroom and even more so once they’re there. These two like verbal foreplay while watching other couples while doing a little role playing of their own. So much to say without any spoilers. Once again the setting is in Sin City aka Las Vegas. I love hearing from both POV’s. This time though you get to hear from several other characters which actually makes the story “more” complete for me. There just might be a little fairy godmother/matchmaking going on in here too. Absolutely love these characters, can’t wait for the next one. Really enjoyed this one a little more I think because we hear from some of the other characters in this story of how love is such a decadent gift. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 5 stars*****

I was choosing to trust. Choosing to love. Choosing to take a chance. That was the gift I gave myself.

Katie and Jake needed more character development as individuals and as a couple to make an emotional impact. They're story was to muddled with other POVs coming in at random chapters, especially at the end ─ which was just a hot mess of POVs and added stories before getting back to the main characters epilogue. Steamy for sure but otherwise disappointing.

3.5-quick read

SPOILERS-kind of...
Last 20% focused on other characters, it was ok, but I would’ve liked more Jake & Kate

I love Lauren Blakely's After Dark books so damn much!! They're hot, hot, HOT!!

The Decadent Gift is Kate and Jake's story and it was every bit as delicious as I had hoped.*fan self* I've been craving their story since The Engagement Gift and it was definitely worth the wait.

This quick and seductive friends to lover romance had the most amazing chemistry, fun, flirty wagers and sexy role play. Kate and Jake fit together so well. I absolutely loved all their interactions. In order for Kate to explore her fantasies and collect research for her job, she needed someone who wouldn't judge her. Jake was just the man for the job. He understood how she loved to observe and play and he played perfectly along right with her.

I am crazy about these Gift series books!! The heroines are unapologetically owning their sexuality and being overall goddesses. I can't wait to read more from this series.

I had been anxiously awaiting Jake and Kate's story since meeting them in the first book in the series, The Engagement Gift. Their story was absolutely worth the wait. I loved that their mutual attraction and interest in each other began with a friendship, and loved that they were part of a large friend group. They were so great together- they had fantastic chemistry and banter and their steamy scenes were so well written. I listened the audible book after reading the story, and Elena Wolf and Teddy Hamilton did a wonderful job as the main characters, as they always do- they are pros and it definitely shows. Grace Grant, Vanessa Edwin and Jacob Morgan also made appearances at the end and added so much to the experience- Lauren Blakely really knows how to cast romance! The Decadent Gift was a great addition to a fun series.

The Decadent Gift (The Gift #3) by Lauren Blakely – The third friend in the bunch is going to be the hardest tree to fell! She’s been burned by trusting the wrong guy, but Jake may be worth the risk! A clever and fun fantasy! Happy Reading!
