Haven’t ploughed thru a book this fast in YEARS 🫶 a couple of the chapters dragged a little for me but overall I loved this and excited to reread my favourite sections. Also parts of it made me cry, it’s so hard to imagine a life which isn’t structured entirely around loss and precariousness (personal & global) but it’s nice to immerse yourself in thinking about for a bit

I cannot deny the relevance of many of its concepts; however the vision of its authors is so tainted by their own biases that basically all the characters they ''interview'' feel completely one-dimensional because they are all part of the same environment.

There is no interview with any survivor who would have been on the side of the police that they mention as repressive and murderous. No, everything leans towards the side they want to exploit plot-wise and for that reason the book never takes off nor says anything worth remembering.

It's more utopia than dystopia. A unique idea and a fun format.

This book really made me change my perspective about the organizing work I’m involved in. It made it feel like the revolution could happen at any moment though things do get worse before they get better sometimes that’s how changing the world has to be.

Absolutely loved it. Great piece of abolitionist speculative fiction. Moving, thought provoking, sometimes funny, sometimes serious. def inspired me lots
