“She's a skank. He's a player. He's cute but almost OD'd last year, so he's a bad bet. She's a two-faced, lying, cheating witch. That's right, Trina, I'm talking to you," she shouted. "By the way," she added just for me, "Trina cusses, which means cussing is trashy, which means my golden rule is to never cuss. I have class. Unlike Trina, the skank of Birmingham." The last part was, of course, shouted.”

Alice in Zombieland is probably one of my favourite books of all time, especially in the Paranormal genre. Gena Showalter worked her magic and casted a spell to add the perfect amount of romance, action and comedy. Alice in Zombieland is not a retelling of Alice in Wonderland, but is more of an interpretation. The inly similarities are the main character being Alice and the White Rabbit, but the White Rabbit is used as a cloud to trigger the warnings of Zombies.

I'd love Gena Showalter to write some novellas for the characters of Kat, Cole and Alice's father because they are the better characters in the book and have a lot of history.

Gimme' more, gimme' gimme' more.

“I've seriously got to stop turning my girlfriends gay, but like I can really help it. It's my animal appeal.”

DNF'd at 57% in. Felt like the author took every goddamn YA cliché she could think of and put it in one book.

Oh Zombies <3

I have this soft spot for zombies and in a weird way, they excite me. The thought of zombies in a "wonderland" setting really excited me. I wasn't disappointed.

Alice lost her whole family. All of them. How freaking sad is that? Not only did she lose them all, but she had to witness the accident herself, and be the only one who survived. So when she finds out why her dad acted the way he did for all those years, she wanted to stop it.

Then comes Cole. Sigh. Their first initial introduction kinda made me roll my eyes. Cause we all make out right off the bat right? I won't lie, it took me awhile to get used to Cole, but he did eventually grow on me. Okay, so he really isn't that bad.

It was a really good story though and I enjoyed it. It had its surprises and drama in all the right places. I look forward to what's going to happen in the second installment ;)

I LOVE this book and I'm probably going to really love the trilogy so much that it'll sadden me when I finish it.

This book is filled with so much comedy and romance, for example:

'She batted her lashes at me and lowered her voice to a smoky rasp. "Cole, you big strong manimal. I know the boogeyman thinks you'll jump out of his closet, but I think you're - Hey are you listening to our private conversation, Marcus?" she ended in a shout. "Yeah, that's right. Run."'

I'm so excited to read Through the Zombie Glass and hope it's as good as the first or even better.

Not what I signed up for, but was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. :)

It’s a very different take on zombies that’s for sure.

I really have a thing for Alice in Wonderland retellings and I was hoping that I'd enjoy it more despite not being a big zombie person. I feel like the spark it needed was missing, but I still may read the second book eventually.

It's super cheesy but it's also a fun time. An easy read, and I'll probably start the next books here soon.

These zombies are much more interesting than the usually living dead kind. Enjoyed the different spin :)
