I love reading about history, especially queer history, and this presents it in a very easy to read way alongside pictures which are nice to look at :)

An LGBT equivalent of the History of the World in 100 Objects, showing the ever shifting attitudes to sexuality and gender over time via exhibits in the British Museum. Necessarily often speculative but fascinating nonetheless.

Exactly what it says on the tin- a little gay history.
It seems approachable and not too academic while not compromising standards of historical research

A charming little guide to LGBT+ history via the objects in the British Museum. It's not particularly in depth, but I don't think it could be expected to be given the format. The photos are lovely and the text is elegantly written. One particular highlight is towards the end of this short book, the caption of a photo that includes visitors to the museum states: "No heterosexuals were harmed in taking this picture".
I enjoyed the book more because I'd previously heard the author's lecture at Oxford, which can be found here: https://podcasts.ox.ac.uk/great-unrecorded-history-lgbt-heritage-and-world-cultures. I'd heartily recommend listening to it if you enjoyed the book.
