I wish I could give this a negative 1 star. I have a huge problem with your portrayal of Black people in your book. First Oksana’s father (who I’m assuming is black because west African, unless you are playing some practical joke) is said to be “most likely smuggling drugs” or something to that effect, and the homeless man just so happens to be Black. This rubs me the wrong way and I hate when “authors” do this. It’s downright racist when minority characters are relegated to undesirable roles. My goodness this is disgusting

Ummm excuse me RW but what did you put in this book? Crack? Cause I couldn’t put it down, I tried to pace myself to make it last but I failed wonderfully. I mean, It was so good and I’m a weak individual, what were we expecting from me? Anyways, listen, I’m not a fan of cheating but I LOVED this book. And I guess the cheating itself didn’t bother me much because the person being cheated on wasn’t in most of the book. Because we didn’t know him. Because he was an idea and I’m totally okay with that.

So get this, Annie is about to walk down the aisle, right? And she’s always had this fantasy of being intimate with a woman. She and her fiancé, Jeff, agreed that they’d both get some time before the wedding to do whatever they wanted without being questioned by the other so, of course, Annie thinks this is the perfect time to indulge and explore her sexuality, cause she’s always been attracted to women but she’s never acted on it. She tells her personal trainer, Oksana, about her fantasy and babes volunteers. Well, the thing is that after the deed is done neither can seem to stop thinking about each other and what was supposed to be one night turns into many nights but Annie babes is still engaged to be married so…yeah.

Look these women did it for me. They were so cute to each other and so horny for one another that I could not. But who took the cake? Oksana. That woman in my mind looks like she would stab you but in reality she is the sweetest most softest human there is. She’s a great mom to her sister, an amazing granddaughter,a badass trainer and so patient it’s crazy. If it were me I would have left Annie and never looked back but Oksana stuck beside Annie and eventually she got her

This book starts with a sex scene but if you think this will set the tone for it, I am happy to report that you're mistaken. I found this one to be a very thoughtful and realistic example of romance fiction. I was actually surprised at how many boxes it ticks without it being clichéd. I guess I should take things from the top.

In case you skipped reading the summary above and can't tell from the cover, this is a book about two women falling in love. Annie is the pampered princess type, who works in TV production while Oksana is the biracial personal trainer hired to help her get in shape for her wedding. Complications soon arise as they give in to their mutual attraction, leading to some steamy girl-on-girl scenes. Their sex scenes are some of the best sex I've read this year.

But their story is about more than that. The characters are vulnerable, they have colourful pasts and I found that at different times I could relate to both of them. In the tradition of romance heroines, they are every woman as she falls in love, only there are two of them in the story so the reader sees different reactions to the same situations. The characters have problems beyond their love lives, which, I think, is what makes this books so realistic. Yes, falling in love consumes one's life but there are usually more things on the plate that also have to be dealt with.

Ms Weatherspoon's writing is flowing effortlessly and I found myself wanting to keep reading way past my bedtime. It is not a pageturner but a rather comforting book, or at least it was for me. I know that I will be returning to read the interactions between Oksana and her family as well as the last chapter (or at least parts of it) again and again.

Overall, this is a definite recommendation from me. Even if you don't necessarily like girl-on-girl sex. As it says on the cover, it's worth much more than the fantasy.

I won the book at a promotional giveaway following its release in April. Rebekah Weatherspoon also writes the Vampire Sorority Sisters Series, with Blacker than Blue coming out in January 2013.

This book went all over the place. It started erotic. Than it went romantic, but in the middle of what felt like a romantic scene, one of the mc’s mentions that her pussy is wet. Then there was a part where they were talking and Annie(not a sexy name for me) finds a big dildo lying around and they start talking about that. All I could think was...what??? Her kid sister who was 15 was just in the house with her girlfriend and could have found it also. Than when Annie finally has the opportunity to tell her male fiancée(yes Annie is in an other relationship) that she fell in love with someone else and all could be good with Oksana. Here comes Annie’s mom and she turns out to be a bitch and bigot. Maybe the book would have been better if we got to see there relationship as trainer/client in the three months prior. Than I could maybe feel the chemistry buildup that I didn’t feel now. And because of the elephant in the room(infidelity) I could not get in this relationship at all. And the pieces that were promising were short. Therefore the sexscenes weren’t hot for me. And the end was also abrupt. 2 stars.

It was wholesome and cute.

I would write a whole review for this and gush over what I loved about each of the characters but I have a hectic day ahead. Might come back and write a longer review later on.
