UPDATE 8/26/19: Found this on Audible Escape and it was better with Sebastian York as narrator. It still didn’t wow me, but it was more enjoyable.

KU: This was OK. It was the kind of book that I’d put down and go back to and put down and... The first 60% was mostly just sex scenes and very little plot which kind of got annoying. The ending was sweet and definitely an HEA. I think maybe the singular POV hurt this and it might have benefitted from more input from Charlotte. As much as I wasn’t “Wow-ed” by this one, I think I might continue the series as the reviews seem to get better.

3 ½ ⭐️
There were some things I loved going into this book: firstly, friends to lovers is probably one of my fav tropes, and I also loved that this book was told 100% from the male POV.
The book was a light read and was what might be considered funny, though It wasn't my kind of funny but I did find it cute.
I think I was after a fluffy, light read and thats what I got. I did find myself a bit bored by the story towards the end

This book was one of the biggest MEH I've read. It was written like a fanfic... and I love fanfics, BUT in fanfics I'm reading about people I know and love with all my heart so I'm just happy to see them falling in love once again. But this characters? MEH. The plot? Meh! So cliché, so predictable... And ok, I can enjoy a cliché book if I like the characters. But Meh characters + Meh plot... *rolling my eyes*.

This book, bah, I can't even hate it.

But there are good things: It's not that boring, and you can read it really fast. There are at least one scene that is funny. Mmmm... what else... there was a quote I liked at the end? Ok that's it.

I was intrigued by the male POV and Spencer's inner dialog was pretty entertaining as was his banter with friend-to-love-interest Charlotte. I've shelved this as erotic because there is lots of explicit sex, but I didn't actually find it erotic.

Overall, 3-stars, but I'm bumping to 4-stars because I'm not really a rom-con fan, so it's a tribute to the novel that I finished it.

Perfect for the reading slump I was in: fast paced, to the point, sexy, and funny enough. I enjoyed it!

Spencer is hilarious! Cocky bastard, but likeable enough. 😊
