Definitely strange, dark, and unconventional, but I found it enjoyable and the emotions relatable.
Hmmm it was weird but interesting and I felt invested in the characters to keep reading. Not sure that I didn’t like it, not sure that I liked it.
Is this a metaphor for abusive relationships? It doesn’t matter I didn’t care for it either way.
dark
mysterious
medium-paced
I enjoyed this so much. I also wanna reread it immediately, because there are about 20 levels to the story that I feel like I missed. This book is so literary, but at the same time so easy to read and utterly gripping. I couldn't put it down!
I was about half way through the book and I can’t get through it. I’m so bored.
I thought this would be a cute romance drama. And there’s certainly drama just none I care about.
Not really any romance was felt but lot of ghost sex…which is fine but….i need more character building.
Idk I have a ton of other books I’d rather read

i'm definitely not the only one to say this is one of the strangest books that i've ever read - right up there with "The Pisces" by Melissa Broder, who funnily enough, wrote a blurb for this book. this was a really fast read, and the writing made it easy to get sucked into the story. there were a lot of things that i really liked about the book, like the conversations about grief, trauma, and how regrets that occur in our lives can deeply effect us and our future relationships. however, i feel like a lot of these themes weren't handled as well as they could have, and i feel like it was kind of just thrown together haphazardly. it's difficult to say who the main character of the story is, and if the whole is better than the sum of its parts. there were some really brilliant parts in here, but a lot more confusing and unnecessary parts, too.
overall i wouldn't say this is a bad book, just a very very strange one that i don't think would work for a lot of people (myself included). there were times when i actually laughed out loud and times when i paused to contemplate my own existence, but it also fell a bit flat for me in the end.

Ope. Did not finish at 50% (mostly because of the pandemic and I had this checked out from the library for so long that they marked it as "lost" on my account). This was a weird one and although I was compelled to keep reading after I initially started, I just put it down for too long and forgot to pick it back up. I probably wouldn't recommend this unless you really long for an adult Casper-esque fanfiction romance. [shrug - to each their own]
