This book was surprisingly a very pleasant read. Was it really weird? Absolutely. But it was such a fun read and I literally couldn’t put it down

Based on the reviews, I didn't know what to expect and low-key convinced myself it would end up being a DNF. Pleasantly surprised to be wrong :)

I don't know anyone I would recommend this to, it's a special kind of weird, but I enjoyed it!

Put on some chill, no-lyric music, and get lost in it.

the reviews lol
i mean, it's cool that people these days are more conscious with relationships and can easily decipher "toxic, abusive etc" behavior, but i feel like it's twilight all over again (on a miniature scale). there is no way a human living breathing person can have "healthy" relationships with a vampire, a ghost etc. i know, i'm sorry :(
for me, this book was a self-exploration of confusing desire. probably every person at times (especially escapist readers) feels bored with mundane and wishes for something more exciting, dangerous. maybe this book didn't really start the whole process of questioning the nature of such desires, it certainly highlighted some ideas for me.

Another first novel that really impressed me with it confidence and ingenuity. It's a sexy hipster ghost story, but also a fair bit more, but also just what it is. I loved the character development. I'm especially impressed with the world-building/cosmology of the book. It is spare and never overworked, but sturdy enough that I never felt like thing were happening randomly, or that corners were being cut to wrap up the story. Graceful, is perhaps a good word for it. A perfect book to finish reading the evening before Valentine's Day.
