I don’t know why there are such bad reviews for this book on here. I actually kinda liked it. It was weird. It I knew it would be. It says so on the book lol
So if you wanna read a weird book that makes you go wtf? a bunch of times and a not so happy ending then check it out

Definitely strange, dark, and unconventional, but I found it enjoyable and the emotions relatable.
Status: completely frustrated with how things turned out that I don't know what to make of it. It still irks me that I can't quite grasp what the author wants to get across but for now, 2 stars. Its creative oddity worked well at the beginning but then it began to slowly ebb away and things just got... too tangled. I might reread this in the future but truth be told: the story would do just fine without Mark's POV.
The Regrets was a whirlwind of emotions for me. It delves into the importance of being human and the importance of love... both to ourselves and others. It wasn't an ordinary read by any means. Being loved by a ghost is definitely not a usual concern. Heartbreaking, tragic, with notes of hope through self love and care.
This kind of book isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since it’s being marketed as romance and that’s somewhat debatable, at least in the conventional sense. However, if readers are not expecting a run-of-the-mill contemporary romance story and go into it anticipating, or at the very least accepting the supernatural elements, I think most can appreciate it. I can definitely see this being a hit as a cozy fall-time read around Halloween.
I appreciated that the style of the author’s writing makes the reader easily able to buy into the magical realism—which is something that I sometimes struggle with when reading other books with supernatural themes. I usually find it irritating when the author doesn’t take the time to explain the magical elements to both the reader and the characters because you’re forced to accept that the characters can travel through time or walk through walls for no apparent reason and with no questions asked. In The Regrets, the author gives enough backstory to make the supernatural elements believable, even though the characters seem a little too quick to accept this previously unknown “magic” as part of their reality.
The comparisons to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind seem appropriate. I could definitely envision this as an indie film. I believe this is the author’s first novel, so I’m interested to read more from her in the future. Overall, I really enjoyed the writing, but the ending felt....anticlimactic. I was just expecting a bit more, but the book fell a little short and ended somewhat abruptly.

I’ve been trying to read this ever since I picked it up, but every time I open it, I just can’t help it but getting bored. It feels like nothing’s happening and the main character was awful, sorry... I thought this would be a great one
I only read 55 pages btw, but that was enough tho
