Oh, Lizzie! You have really maturated in all these years. This book shows us a change in dynamics that was due to happen sooner than later. Sarah is having some problems with her mother's relationship and she's not dealing too well with being home-bound. For once, she's the one needing support and patience.

But, if that wasn't enough, Meg is back and she's... Meg. Manipulative, interfering Meg, ready to cause headaches.

Yes, there is a lot of conflict in this story but there is also the humour that I come to expect from this series, so you are never too wound up to keep enjoying this tale of marriage, babies, family and all the catastrophes that come with them :P

I just leave you with a quote that, to me at least, portrays Lizzie perfectly
It was hard for me to keep up with my ever-expanding family and social connections. Recently, I’d started a family tree and spreadsheet. *dies laughing*

Just go, and read the whole series! You won't regret it!

Overall, this story was a decent, soap opera-ish read. Lizzie hasn't changed much from [b:A Family Woman|34745292|A Family Woman (A Woman Lost, #3)|T.B. Markinson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1513277415l/34745292._SY75_.jpg|55935993]. She still faces a totem pole of family complications while dodging a quicksand of ugly truths. It is obvious, however, that she genuinely loves her wife and their twinkies. She also looks up to Helen, who has been, in my opinion, Lizzie's only non-judgemental beacon of support. The one character that is beginning to irk me is Sarah. Compared to the previous books in this series, Sarah’s actions and reactions towards Lizzie in this story were not as supportive and...I don't know, can’t quite explain it. Childish, controlling, and shallow are the only words that spring to mind. On a different note, some of Lizzie’s conversations with and about her brother leave me to believe that there's trouble a-brewin' in the Peter-Tie household. We shall see!

It is "Freaky Friday" in the Petrie-Cavanaugh household as Lizzie and Sara switch places emotionally and Lizzie has to act like emotionally stable adult...hmmm.

Sara's sense of family is turned around as her mother starts a romantic relationship with someone Sara does not approve of. Ethan's marriage gets rockier than normal. Tie hints to others that disaster looms on the horizon for Peter. Maddie is bed hopping. Lizzie accidentally brings a woman home. Then to put icing on the cupcake, Lizzie's ex-girlfriend comes back in to town with questionable intentions. The only one keeping a straight head on her shoulders during all of the crisis's seems to be Casey.

I think the only words not uttered in A Conflicted Woman by T.B. Markinson are post-partum depression which might be part of Sara's problem as Lizzie and her switch personalities in this book. Sara is very emotional and volatile, whereas Lizzie very much tries to keep in touch with her emotions and everyone else's as Sara spins. I think this book actually solidifies Lizzie and Sara's relationship more than any other book as Sara seemed to rely on all of the other characters in their family for everything and in this one Lizzie was the main character for her. Maddie took a backseat in this book as did most of the other characters and Woman really focused on Sara and Lizzie. Once again, Markinson introduces a new sexual play into their repertoire which was fun to read and finally Lizzie got some satisfaction - the play definitely seems to be more Sara sided (just my opinion). I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but I do not think it could be read as a stand-alone as I would not have enjoyed the journey if I had not understood their past.
