even though this was so smutty (gross) i loved how farrah and jace spoke to each other. their relationship revolved mainly around their late night conversations or their drives or their pool talks. it gave their story some depth that it honestly required.

i also think the character development was a tremendous success. after the time jump there was a significant difference in how all the characters involved behaved.

I can always count on Penelope Ward to deliver a solid contemporary romance read with each new release, but I couldn’t wait to read The Crush! Best friend’s sister is always one of my go-to tropes, and I really enjoyed Farrah and Jace’s story!

Penelope Ward had me hooked from page one and I didn’t want to put it down. Farrah and Jace had a great connection and I loved seeing them figure things out. I really felt for both of them and the situation. I understood why a lot of things were done, and yet I couldn’t help but be frustrated that sometimes things went certain ways. I knew these two were perfect for one another though, and I had every faith that things would work out for them as Penelope has never let me down yet!

While this one had a few predictable moments, I had a great time reading it and I think fans of Penelope’s books are going to really enjoy Farrah and Jace. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. If you are a fan of contemporary romance, Penelope Ward is an author that you don’t want to miss! I definitely recommend checking out The Crush as well as anything else with Penelope’s name on it!

I just finished listening to the audiobook of The Crush. I really enjoyed this book. Absolutely love Farrah & Jace. Hot & sexy as usual. And as always, Sebastian York & Andi Arndt did an amazing job narrating!

Ok but forgettable

There’s really not much to say about this book. It took me an abnormally long time to get into this book. Overall my final feeling on this book was good but I can’t say I can really remember what actually happened. I felt there was a lot of unnecessary parts to this book so it was just kind of boring. Nothing excited me or grabbed me.

The romance felt a bit “forced” to me like I didn’t feel a connection like I have with other books. I think I had too high expectations or something because this book failed to deliver. I spent most of my time reading this book contemplating whether or not to dnf it. I’m not sure it’s even worth 3 stars to me but the ending got slightly better which redeemed it slightly in my eyes.

It was a good read but I kept feeling like something was missing. Like there was nothing really keeping me hooked to the story but I pushed through and finished it
