I picked up this book at The Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff and it is definitely worth having if you are a Whovian (as is going to the Experience. My face still hurts from smiling so much). It's similar in style to the Jedi and Bounty Hunter Guides of the Star Wars universe and reads like a true handbook. It primarily follows the adventures of the 11th Doctor inserting his own personal version written for his new regenerated self into the official Gallifreyan Time Lord guidebook. The attention to detail in this respect is staggering, with bits of paper or old receipts taped and stapled onto colored construction paper. It does create a nice balance between the old and new series if you're unfamiliar with Doctor Who history. My favorite bit is it allows you to create your own Time Lord name based on the first letters of your first and surname. So, in short, this book is silly and lighthearted, just like The Doctor would have wanted. And don't forget...RUN.

Time Lord manual that starts quite serious but then gets the Doctor's notes to go alone and make it more fun. Nice children book, but also interesting and very sweet! Recommended to any Whovian!

Ostensibly a guide to newly-minted Time Lords on what's expected of them and annotated by the Eleventh Doctor as a handbook to the newly-regenerated Twelfth Doctor; really a lightly-written guide to Doctor Who itself, from the First Doctor era through the end of the Eleventh, covering various concepts of the show. Clearly aimed at the younger side of the show's audience, it's a quick and easy read that doesn't delve very deeply into anything. Fun and frothy.

I think I'm definitely not the target audience, but I can imagine eight year olds having fun with this.

This was a easy, fun book to read; however, it is definitely meant for a younger audience. I still enjoyed it regardless because it's Doctor Who, but I feel like this is a book that you'd either give to a young-ish kid or someone who doesn't really know much at all about the show. Also, the book is supposed to be written from Eleven's point of view, but the writing style just didn't sound much like him at all. This may be a result of the fact that this is technically a BBC children's book...I don't know. Overall, it's an enjoyable, quick read (I finished it in a bit over a 1/2 hour) and a good way to pass the time during the hiatus (especially since Netflix doesn't have Doctor Who anymore)

A quick and fun little book full of inside jokes. Quirky and silly just like the 11th Doctor. If you're looking for something that's the equivalent of watching a new episode look somewhere else. This book is to be flipped through and enjoyed and it's geared toward younger fans. Being a not so young fan, though, I still had fun reading it.

This was a fun, fluffy read. Lots of doodles and quizzes and trivia. It's kind of like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for "Doctor Who."
