Did not realize this was the first book in the series. This was pretty good. The family drama, social anxiety, fun setting, and very entertaining. I liked that she showed grown adults and their different struggles and how they set boundaries. I really like that she gives the best friend/side kick a romantic side story without making things too complicated but it gives you a bit of closure.

dnfing this.. physically cannot make myself go through one more page. the writing is so odd, and the forced-romance between the main characters is absolutely killing me because somehow they can’t talk to each other without sounding constipated but they’re also.. soo connected? what? making me wonder if sophie sullivan wildly grew as an author in an year, or if her second book was also bad and i just read it during a high. (1/5 stars)

3.5 - slow burn romance. Not as cheesy as some of my other recent reads (the falling in love with the person you hate storyline). Enjoyed the portrayal/inclusion of Everly’s anxiety, and Chris’s respect for those boundaries.

This was a sweet story with all the feels!
I really liked Everly and Chris together and individually,an office romance set at a radio station..so cute
Everly is such a strong woman and I liked this book approach to the anxiety.
The characters were so endearing and had their hearts in the right place, namely Stacey and Everly's friendship. I hope this turns into series, the ending chapters were quite good and fun to read.

Ugggghhhhh this book started out so strong and then just lost all of that as it went along. I loved getting to read about a character with anxiety as that's something I can really relate to. Throughout the story, I really appreciated how the author handled anxiety and seemed very accurate at least to my own experiences. Now we dive into what I didn't like about this book.

This is essentially a Bachelorette knock off. This plot both took over the plot but also wasn't in it enough. I think the author was just trying to do too much with this story and so neither storyline had enough time to fully grow. Personally, I wish the author made it more of a straight up Bachelorette story or completely took it out of the book. Everly is really working on herself after a humiliating breakup and that easily could have been the focus of the book. At least for me, the plot really just fell flat.

Not going to talk about it much but where is the smut?? Literally not even a fade to black scene...

Overall, this book was fine but not something I'd recommend. Needed to pick a plot and just generally be more interesting.

I'm disappointed I didn't read this book first (of the Jansen Brothers' books). I totally missed it was part of a series and read them out of order. Having met Chris and Everly in the next books within the series I was already drawn to their story and Chris' treatment of Everly's anxiety. I enjoyed reading of their meeting and the game show style story was fun to read!
